Customer rating is 5 of 5  Excellent with one very minor problem...   2010-01-26

Ok, this is a great purchase, period!

I am not a fan of the comic, but seeing this to me is better than reading it.

The work they did with the motion comic is excellent!
The story is excellent, and SO much better than the movie that is out.
In fact, please see this before you see the movie (yes, I know this is longer, but believe me, it's worth it).

Now the only gripe I have is having Tom Stechschulte doing all the voices. Yeah, it's ok for most voices but having him do the female voices was a bit strange, but you get used to it since the story itself makes up for it.

Yes, some parts are a little brutal...this is NOT meant for kids to watch by any means.

I highly recommend it.
Customer rating is 4 of 5  Watchmen Comic is a good read/watch.   2009-12-17

This DVD was overpriced as new but "used" prices certainly make it worth the purchase. Great for fans of the graphic novel and very interesting for movie goers who wondered where the source material came from. Watchmen came before many of the great Dark Horse and DC's Vertigo comics of the nineties. I always felt that Watchmen set the standard for these titles.
Just great reading for people who loved their comics growing up as it allows the comics to grow up with you. The narraration is professional but looses a little credibility when the female characters are voiced by the same gentlemen doing the male voices.
Customer rating is 5 of 5  Incredible   2009-10-04

I was blown away by this, I had never read the comic, nor heard of watchmen before my friend showed me a few minutes of it. The aesthetic is something I have never engaged with before, seeing a static comic come to life, especially this one, is unlike anything I have seen. Personally, I think the way they did the voice-over was very effective, Tom Stechschulte did an incredible job. I have heard a few people who have complained about the singular voice-over; however, I think they miss the point of the overall feel the producers were aiming for. I saw the hollywood adaptation and was so disappointed. Even if you have not read the comic and are just being introduced to watchmen, you should see this - even if get your hands on it another way :)
Customer rating is 3 of 5  Its bearable, but taken in small doses   2009-09-15
By Mr Mister (Seattle, Wa)
I've watched this awhile back because i dont have the patience to sit down and actually read a comic book (thats when you know you have a bad case of ADD).

Anyway.. For the most part i found this to be bearable. It captures the exact mood i expect in Watchmen. the one thing that REALLY gets to me is the fact that the females should have a female actor...

Other than that.. Its fine. The one comic where Dr Manhatten is talking on Mar is awfully annoying.
Customer rating is 5 of 5  SciFi   2009-09-14

If your not into SciFi, don't buy this.

If your a Trekkie . . . it's a must have.
