The neat pleasure of watching a living car squirt oil in a villain's face just never goes away. Disney, in their effort to revitalize the Herbie franchise, has made the wise choice of not trying too hard--aside from a small bit of skateboarding action, just concerning each element of Herbie: Fully Loaded would fit right into the 1963 original (groovily titled The Love Bug) or its various sequels. Maggie Peyton (Lindsay Lohan, the fiery-tressed starlet of Indicate Girls and Freaky Friday) wants to join her family's dynasty of race car drivers, but her father (Michael Keaton, Batman Returns) fears this she'll get harm. Instead, as a college graduation gift, he purchases her a junked-out Volkswagen Beetle--which turns out to be Herbie, a car together with a intellect of its own. Soon Maggie and Herbie are racing against an arrogant racing champion (Matt Dillon, Crash, There's Something Concerning Mary) and duking it out together with monster trucks, eventually hoping her father's heart will modify. Herbie: Fully Loaded is formulaic fluff, but executed together with cheerful enthusiasm; everyone involved has clearly embraced the mix of slapstick hijinks and light family drama. There's even a handful of cameos by NASCAR drivers. The outcome is each bit as ridiculous yet entertaining as its forebears. --Bret Fetzer

An awesome buy for the race fans in all of us. I found this movie to be enjoyable and fun for the whole family.

Having loved the Herbie movies as young child, I picked up this movie, thinking it would be fun to watch it with my 5 year old daughter. And I was right! We had a great time, watching this movie. I love that the bad guy was "bad", but not scary. Sometimes, my daughter gets scared watching other Disney movies with evil witches, etc. because they are truly scary - not in this movie. I enjoyed watching it as much as she did. I remember thinking after the movie was over, how refreshing it was to watch a movie that actually was a "G" in rating. Fun movie to watch!

Lindsey Lohan is a naturally born car racer, who received a special birthday gift from her father, which is the car "Herbie". Now Herbie is a funny, emotional, and intelligent car. It can basically do the driving for you and communicate with you too! Lindsey uses Herbie to defeat the racing champion, and she is crowned champion afterwards, making herself and her family very proud. Now the Herbie idea is quite old. It's an old movie made in the 70s I guess and this movie is based on it. However the idea is not impossible! A car that makes the driving decisions, not the driver, is not impossible in our time. Same way we have today auto pilots, we could have soon auto driver. However the exaggerated part is the emotional one. Like the part where Herbie was attracted to another Beatles car. That last scene was cute anf funny, but obviously impossible! The idea of an intelligent car could be a nice horror movie too. An evil haunted car that kills whoever drives it! Nice huh?
